Karmapa Center 16 will celebrate the 40th Parinirvana of His Holiness the 16th Karmapa beginning Friday, October 29 and continuing through November 6, 2021.

The event will be held online, via Zoom, and pay tribute to His Holiness with teachings, pujas (or ceremonies), and practices hosted by Karmapa Center 16. Talks by Dilyak Drupon Rinpoche, Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, and Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche will be presented live and recorded for those participating in the 40th Parinirvana asynchronously. Recorded remarks from His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche, His Eminence Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche, Ayang Rinpoche, and Tashi Densapa (Banya Rinpoche) will also be shared.
The mission of Karmapa Center 16 is to commemorate His Holiness the 16th Karmapa with a stupa, memorial, meditation hall, retreat center, and place to learn and study about the history of Buddhism and the Karma Kagyu lineage. The center is in close proximity to the place of his passing, or parinirvana, and offers the opportunity for interested visitors to pay respects, conduct pilgrimage, meditate, visit and learn.
